Riding around Milan, as in all cities, one does not go unnoticed by the Riders, workers who make home deliveries, mostly of food, moving mainly on bicycles or mopeds, usually on behalf of delivery apps.
What characterises them most is the wait, that time of unknown duration before the notification of the new order to be delivered arrives. The interesting thing is to note how everyone decides to deal with this moment, those who have already met some friends, those who try to socialise and those who, instead, prefer to stay isolated. Agglomerations form at strategic points in the city and are increasingly becoming part of the urban landscape.
Perhaps what makes waiting more mystical, more disturbing, is the fact that one does not clearly know the boundaries of what one is waiting for, but nevertheless perceives a climate of suspension.
